Not sure if you’ve read Peter Kahrel’s Script UI guide: https://www.kahrel.plus.com/indesign/scriptui.html

You will need to replace the dropdownlist with a listbox… as I found lately, there’s no real way of controlling a dropdownlist length like this, but it should work with a listbox (p24 of the guide)
