Create Diptychs and Triptychs on the iPhone and iPad
Press Release
Diptic is a $1.99 app for the Apple iPhone and iPad that lets you quickly and easily combine two or three of your photos to create an image. The resulting photograph is called a diptych (if it’s made up of 2 images) or a triptych (if it’s made up of three images). Diptych and triptychs have been used for many years in art photography.
With Diptic you can quickly and easily create a before-and-after sequence, produce a photographic series, or juxtapose contrasting images. Just choose a layout, select your photos, place the photos in position and save to your camera roll or email to a friend.
We currently provide controls to adjust brightness, contrast, and saturation. When you click “Mirror Image” on the Transform screen, your photo gets flipped horizontally. If you want to mirror or flip your image vertically, click “Rotate 90 Degrees” two times, then click “Mirror Image.” The output images that are emailed or saved to the Camera Roll are 1024 by 1024 pixels.
To get your images into the Diptic Flickr Community Pool, all you need is a Flickr account and to join our group. A basic account is free. Once you have an account, visit our group and click the “Join?” link at the top of the page. Once you’re a member, you can add any image you create with Diptic to the group pool. You can use the Flickr website, or any of several Flickr apps to upload your photos.
