About
Capri Norrman is a journalist and art director based in Sweden, with over 20 years of experience in design and communication. In recent years, she has focused more and more on digital accessibility—something that started out as a work responsibility, but gradually grew into a personal and professional passion.
Her interest in accessibility was shaped in part by her own upbringing. Capri’s mother, born blind due to albinism, later regained some vision and was able to study with the help of assistive technology. Seeing how access to the right tools opened up opportunities had a lasting impact. Today, Capri works to make sure others can have that same chance—whether through accessible documents, web content, or workshops in plain language.
She is a certified Accessible Document Specialist (ADS) and spends much of her time working behind the scenes in complex documents: adjusting reading order, color contrast, tagging, and alt texts. She also gives talks and trainings on accessibility and plain language, often encouraging teams to think beyond just compliance and ask deeper questions: Who is this for? Who might still feel left out?
Capri sees herself as someone who keeps learning—often together with others. For her, accessibility is not just about rules or checklists, but about making information available in ways that actually work for real people.
Outside of work, she enjoys poetry slam, long forest walks with her dog, and restoring old houses using traditional methods. She tries to spend as little time as possible in front of a screen—though she often finds herself completely absorbed when a challenging document needs fixing. What started as a task someone had to take on at work has turned into something that matters deeply to her.
