About
Meryl Evans, CPACC, is a professional speaker, LinkedIn Top Voice, trainer, author, and accessibility consultant who was born profoundly deaf. She is a highly regarded speaker on disability inclusion and accessibility. When Meryl speaks, she focuses on the three E’s: educating, entertaining, and encouraging action. She has spoken at many events including TEDx and sxsw.
Meryl has appeared in many books and publications including The Wall Street Journal, Morning Brew, AdWeek, AdAge, and The Dallas Morning News. She's a Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies (CPACC).
Meryl's disability inclusion and accessibility experience focuses on education, marketing, advocacy, process management, and product development, helping organizations expand their reach, boost engagement, and ensure employees and customers feel included.
Serving nonprofits and her community has always been a priority. Meryl has a long history as a volunteer and board member. She currently serves on multiple nonprofit boards. The Plano Chamber of Commerce has named her one of the 50 Leading Women because of her advocacy work, community service, and leadership.
She's the inaugural recipient and namesake of the North Texas Disability Chamber's Meryl Evans Self-Advocacy Award. It's given to an individual with disabilities for their commitment, determination, and life-long advocacy efforts to promote the inclusion of people with disabilities.
A proud native Texan, Meryl grew up in Fort Worth and resides in Plano. She spent time outside the Lone Star State in Washington, DC. While there, she earned her BA in education from American University and worked for the Federal Aviation Administration. After returning to Texas, she worked for two Fortune 500 companies.
She and her spouse have three human children and two furry kids. She's a recovering athlete who is proud of having completed three half marathons, including one in under 2 hours. She's also a two-time Dallas Morning News Holiday Cookie Contest winner. She enjoys traveling, baking, crocheting, and trying new things like skydiving.
