Ok, i’m ready to strangle indesign at this point. For my last 3 books I used Virginia Systems InSeq which handled numbering really well but I’m wondering about DTP Tools since David is affiliated. Can someone answer this?

1) do I need the CC2017 upgrade or does the regular tool work with CC2017?
2) Then, can I create cross references to a counter such that I can have Exercise 1, Exercise 2, Exercise 3 where {1,2, 3} are auto incrementing counters, and have the reference insert the text “Exercise 2”?
3) Assuming yes to #2, can I continue the numbering across chapters?
4) Does delete/cut/copy/paste retain all original numbering links? (this is a huge miss in CC2017’s xref)
