Hello! Okay, so, I’m using the most recent CC 2016 and I have a document that went from having a spot color to… Not. Having a spot color. So I’m going through and changing the color instances to CMYK. The document also contains linked EPS files that use the spot color.
If I remember correctly, in previous versions of InDesign, if a linked file had a spot color in it, the spot color appeared in InDesign’s swatches as a swatch that could not be deleted. But now, I’m in a document with these linked files, where I’ve changed the available spot color to process, and the swatch that would represent the linked file’s spot color is not showing up. Ink manager in both InDesign and Acrobat is only showing CMYK plates, too.
Does this mean that InDesign’s color control now effectively outranks colors in links? Is there a change note to that effect? I’d search right now, but this needs to go to print today (of course).
Thanks in advance!
