In InDesign CC, in a “Split 2” column, is there any elegant way to:

Keep the text of a bullet together (without carrying over to the other column)?

Give the right column more “weight” in terms of balance?

Can someone please edit the typo in my title? It won’t let me! :)

I fixed the typo (assuming you meant “tame”).

The Keep Options features should keep the paragraph together.

Thought, in older versions of InDesign it was broken:

No way to tell it to give the right column more “weight” though.

      Hi David,

      Thank you for your reply.

How do you deal with this situation?

Do you just let InDesign do its thing?

Regarding the “weight” issue, that is.

You can add a column break character at the beginning of one of the paragraphs if you need to push it into the 2nd column.

I always go the line/paragraph I want to move and go to “paragraph” and tell it to start a new column. I never use the column break characters because we aren’t allowed to use them because of eBook issues down the road.

      Dwayne,

I’m not sure what you mean by “paragraph”? Can you be more specific?

He meant that in the Paragraph Keep Options there’s an option to set up so that this paragraph always starts in a column.
