I am looking to take data merge just a bit farther than what I am currently seeing. I would like a directory with Company Name, Contact person, Phone all neatly put into a table of on column. I went over Blathers directory tutorial and it’s close, I just need a header for each group in the directory. I have the XL already saved to CSV. Column one has the headers for the company with blank rows until the next set of companies, Columns two through four have the company name etc.
I try to set as a multiple record but it is greyed out. When I set the data merge all I get is a repeat of the first row of data repeated throughout the book. I have a couple of screen shots, can get them uploaded here.
      Any help would be appreciated.

Michael, have you looked at my Data Merge title at Lynda.com? I cover making a directory with that script and data merge.

However, doing the headers is not always easy. You may need to invest in a third-party tool such as InData from Em Software.

Yes, I used it to get the better part of the directory set up. Then just a little creativity utilizing your comment about auto deleting blank cells and some creative one column, one row formatting and It’s now solved. Actually a lot easier than when I was struggling through with headers as a different cell. Thank you
