Reply To: El Capitan issues with inDesign

Hi, I just bought a new 27 inch iMac with El Capitan. I migrated everything from my 8 year old Mac without any issue but I’m really concerned about losing the ability to use CS6, which I bought in downloadable form in 2012, so have been stalling opening them.

Reading through all the advice on the forums, I installed the latest Java, 8, (figuring the latest would be the best), restarted and tried opening InDesign from the Applications folder, rather than from the dock with the Shift, Control, Option and Command keys held.

However, each time I try the window comes up asking me about agreeing to the trial.

I am assuming this is the Creative Cloud version, is this correct? I don’t want to go that way if I can help it because I don’t want to pay monthly and would rather continue using the one I purchased already. So, should I proceed or will I get myself into an irreversible situation?

I’m a little lost with the video because it doesn’t quite fit with my problem

So, what do I do?

When I look in Applications there is now a second InDesign app Alias that has Date Modified as today. Have I messed it up already?

I use InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator and would be exceedingly grateful for help with getting my CS6 working as it has done till now
