Can you 'identify' a text block so it relates to other documents?

I’m not sure the best way to describe this. Say, I have multitudes of different INDD CC 2015 documents, different sizes etc, but they all contain the same text that needs to update together.

EXAMPLE: A Ford F-150 truck price is $29,995 on all 6 INDD documents. If I change the $29,995 on on doc 1 to $30,000, it auto-updates the other docs 2-6 with that same Ford F-150 price of $30,000. ****NOTE**** before you say, do a find/replace and done, say that same $29,995 price is on other cars, and I don’t want their price to change!?!?

Is there a way to ‘identify’ a certain text block and have it ONLY link to certain other text blocks (without doing a global change that blindly affects everything with the same value)???? Kind of a like a parent/child deal….

      IDEAS?

It’s not always super easy/pretty, but this works:

Eeks, I’ll have to give that a try, but it doesn’t seem like the perfect solution :).. I’ll keep looking, thanks David!

What if… I started a document (call it DOC-A) with ONLY the $29,995 pricing listed on it…. and saved the file with a very specific filename… then, opened another INDD doc and PLACED that file into that doc… they would be linked at that point… Then, if I edit DOC-A again, it would auto update everywhere it’s being used?!?!!?!?!!

      Shoot that might just work.

SOLVED! HA! Yes, that worked, I PLACED the ‘pricing’ INDD file info into the other associated INDD docs… if I need to change the $29,995 info, I simply open, edit and save! All of the the docs containing that linked file will ask to update! DONE!

Now, to build an enormous library of original pricing INDD docs! :)
