      Hi everybody,

      I just made a very simple logo in InDesign which is a round circle with text in the middle. I would like to move the logo around without having to select the text seperately everytime I do so.
      Is there any way for me to select the circle + text at the same time, as if it were ONE object?

      Thanks in advance!

      Select the logo (round circle) and the text that is over it, and group it. You will find that under the toolbar at the top of the page under “Items”

      You can take it a step further, (save a copy of your live text version first), then select text and create outlines, so now it’s artwork and won’t have the text frame around it.

      Type->Create Outlines

      If it makes sense, you can do Pathfinder->Subtract for the type to be transparent.

      I recommend saving your logo as a PDF also, which you may need down the line.

      Create it again in Illustrator, and save it as a .ai file.

      Use File>Place in InDesign to bring the image in.

      When you need to update the logo across the board you can edit the .ai file and the changes will be made in all instances of that logo.
