Reply To: Consecutive Numbering from a catalogue into TOC

If you are making the links with live captions, then you can move the captions separately to the images. If you take the captions off the images, stack them up into a line, then move them so they are only 1px on the artboard and the rest on the pasteboard, then InDesign will read them in the right order.

This is obviously a hack, but I do love a hack! If you were passing this artwork on then you would have to document quite extensively what you have done, but if you are the only one working on the artwork it mught be an easier way of working than messing around with cross refs. Your actual visible captions might have to be dead text boxes rather than caption also which would be a pain.
