My company just gave four staffers new iMacs — running ID CS5.5 on Yosemite. We have a group of scripts that are housed on a local server. Usually when we have a new user, I just copy an alias of the network folder holding the scripts into the “user” scripts panel folder in ID. No problems. But on the new iMacs: The alias does not show in the scripts panel as a folder; just a somewhat grayed out item. I can see the alias and the items within it when click “reveal in Finder, they just don’t show in the scripts panel. I tried having an admin put them in the Application scripts folder, same result. Anyone ever come across this?

That is weird. Ghost folder! I haven’t run into that. The only thing I can think of is maybe use a symbolic link instead of an alias. It’s geeky to create, but maybe that would work?

Check your new users have the correct permissions to access the folder on the server

I had this problem also with Yosemite. I made a symbolic link to my scripts folder and placed it in the CC scripts panel.
After doing that the alias I had in my CS6 panel started working, weird!
Downloaded https://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/10433/symboliclinker/download for making the links

      Thanks David for the tip,

      Trevor
