      Hi,

I know someone will have the answer to this query.

I created a new document in InDesign CC 2014 (Mac). The document had a front and back cover and a spine. to indicate where the spine folds were, I created .5 pt. dash lines. I thought there was a command that would allow you to view the dash lines but suppress printing, similar to the Suppress Printout option in Quark XPress. I checked the InDesign Help and couldn’t find an equivalent or a suggestion for a workaround.

I know there is a solution, but can use some help finding it.

Select the dashed line, go to attributes panel (window – output – attrib), select “non-printing”.

Simply select the dash line, and go:

“Window” – “Output” – “Atributes” .. and mark “non printing”. Then you can see the line, but it will not print.

Or put the lines on their own layer and then set the layer to non-printing in the Layer Options dialog box (from layers panel menu)
