When you’re laying out a page, sometimes you have to put text frames on top of images. And if you’re working with a very detailed or multi-colored image, it can be really hard to make the text readable, especially if increasing the point size is not an option. Fortunately, there’s an easy fix: ghosting an area of the image, and Anne-Marie Concepcion shows you how to do this in latest episode of InDesign Secrets on lynda.com.
In the video, Anne-Marie shows the trick for using InDesign’s transparency features ghost the fill color of a frame while keeping the text inside it fully visible. It’s an easy thing to do once you know where to look, and essential bit of knowledge for anyone laying out pages with InDesign.
