    I have searched in vain for a sciript or plugin to assign keyboard shortcuts to layers. Am I missing something very obvious but I thought it would be very handy to be able to quickly change layers. Is there a script or plugin that does this?

    Edit > Keyboard Shortcuts…

    Product Area drop-down > Panel Menus

    InDesign by itself doesn't let you assign shortcuts to specific layers. I felt this was important, so I had the folks at DTP Tools add it to the Blatner Tools plug-in (https://blatnertools.com). You can also use BT to add shortcuts to paragraph styles, color swatches, etc.

    Thanks for that. I do have Blatner Tools (lots of useful stuff) but didn't realise I could assign a keyboard shortcut to layers this way. Unfortunately when I tried, there seems to be a bug – I can assign keyboard shortcuts to paragraph sytles but not layers for some reason. I'll ask DTP Tools if they know what the problem is.
