I have been working hard for the past few months with indesign for an upcoming project I have in mind.
So far, I really love this software, well, love and hate.
I am 85% complete on my first book republication, however there are some frustrating things holding me back.
1. I have set up a chapter header style, which automatically sets to start on the next page, however when I choose this style I want it to start at midway of the newpage as shown in the screen tagged immortal. Each time I set my chapter style, I have to “shift + enter” just before it, otherwise it remains at the top.
2. Please could someone explain how the chapter creation process works, Adobe builds my chapter list but also keeps the same style as the chapter paragraph style I created, I just want it to show with simple “…”leading to the page number.
3. I would love to know how to set up bookmarks to, so that the chapters become clickable if possible.
4. Finally, I have noticed that with my settings, alot of the space to the right of my text boxes is not being used, is it a bad practice to use the full justification option for paragraph styling, or is there a more ethical approach.
If anyone could help me, I would be very thankful, I would even pay someone to finetune my indesign template for me, as I will be using this for a handful of books I want to republish.
Thanks in advance.
