…can it be done?
From what i can see and have read, it isn't possible in ID which seems crazy?
I have a chapter in Word, lets say it has 10 footnotes, numbered 1 to 10. Footnotes 1-5 are in the text as normal…6 and 7 are in a table in the Word doc, with 8-10 in the remainder of the text. When I import this, ID has a nightmare and doesn't want to recognise the footnotes in the table.
At the moment, the only way we can see with progressing with this is to put in dummy footnote ques near the table, make them invisible by making them white (or the same colour as the page) and then put 'normal' superscript numbers in the table as fake ques. This then provides the footnotes at the bottom of the page for the text, and allows for the numbering to continue throughout the ID file.
Am I missing something or is ID pants at footnotes in tables. Also, if this is the case, does anyone have any better cheats for resloving this problem as I'm sure we are not the only people that deal with footnote ques in tables!
Cheers
