    Out of the blue, my editor’s imac started being unable to edit indesign files with incopy. It says “unable to lock the file” when he attempts to check out the file. I thought it was a permissions thing first so I quadruple checked that, created a new user and granted permission to that account all to no avail. I Unlinked all the icml files and repackaged the file under a different name… no go. I copied the file to that computer and it works locally on that machine but not when opening from the shared folder on my mac pro. I updated Indesign CS5 with the latest update, I updated osx on both computers and updated incopy on the editors imac. All no go.

    Deadlines are on top of me…can anyone help? I am in China and there is no support I can draw on.

    Well, I came across exactly the same problem. No matter what I do I just cannot check out any assignment on other macs except mine. Can somebody give me a hand?

    P.S. I am in China too….is this the reason???
