Yes, there are index markers in the Word .docx file, but they don't show up in the InDesign file. (No idea why the Index feature detects words without page numbers instead of nothing at all.) The Import options are set up properly, with index text checked.

If I change the original Word document from .docx to either .doc or .rtf and import it, some of the markers show up in the InDesign text, but not all. Here's a sample of what I get when I try to generate the index from the new InDesign file:

lower back injury

Backache 49

bedridden by

lower back injury

lumbago

Bladder

renal failure

Blood pressure

lowered 21

So, something is going wrong during import. Any ideas on how to fix this?
