Karen Sperling Announces an Artist Blocks and Marketing Seminar with Laurence Gartel
Attention photographers who have learned to paint in Painter and who aren’t selling their painted portraits: Karen Sperling has a seminar for you.
The seminar is called The Artistry GARTEL Painting and Marketing for Photographers Seminar.
Karen Sperling has invited world-exhibited artist Laurence Gartel to help photographers get over artist block and to offer them out-of-the-box marketing ideas to jump start their painted photo businesses.
“Photographers don’t think of themselves as artists,” Karen notes. “So it may surprise them to find out that they can experience the same sorts of blocks about painting and selling their art that artists experience. This seminar will help photographers get past the artist and marketing blocks that are standing in their way of selling their painted photographs.”
An expert Painter user, Laurence Gartel will also answer Painter questions.
“But this isn’t a beginners Painter class,” Karen notes. “That’s what my Artistry Retreat is for. The Artistry GARTEL Painting and Marketing for Photographers Seminar is geared toward photographers who have taken Painter classes from me or anyone else or has read or followed the Painter books, tutorials and dvds, and would like to start selling, but either can’t seem to finish paintings, or market their work, or both.”
The Artistry GARTEL Painting and Marketing for Photographers Seminar will be held in New York City Thursday and Friday April 26 and 27, 2007 at the NYPC offices in the Hotel New Yorker at 34th Street and 8th Avenue.
It follows an Artistry Retreat April 23, 24 and 25, 2007 in the same location, and taught by Karen Sperling, who is the original Painter expert (she wrote the first Painter manual).
The Artistry Retreat gives you not just the Painter steps but also the art concepts for turning photos into paintings in Painter. Art concepts include things like how to know if a photo is a good candidate to be turned into a painting in Painter and how to choose colors.
