      Hello,

I just found out that I can create flipper books from a catalog I made straight from indesign.

We want to be able to share our catalog online for our customers and thought what better way then a flipper book.

So I've taken the catalog .indd file and resaved to be able to edit it for web viewing and exported an .swf file. After finding out how easy this part was I and able to preview it in safari, I thought how great it would be to add links and video.

So I added one of each to see if and how they work. Neither one is working.

1.) The hyperlink give me the following error every time.

Adobe® Flash® Player has stopped a potentially unsafe operation. The following local application on your computer or network:

      /Volumes/Shared/Art Department/Projects/SWF/HIngeKit_Web_interactive.swf

is trying to communicate with this Internet-enabled location:

      https://www.totalauto.com

To let this application communicate with the Internet, click Settings.

You must restart this application after changing your settings.

Now i have added the location to trust and all that and still no luck.

2.) I added a movie, Linked it, resized it, added a poster to it… all that. when I try and view it in the .swf file I get the image/poster and that's it. I can't click on it or play it. I'm trying to upload the video and link it, but indesign doesn't like it.

This all may be very basic stuff for some of you and that's great cause I could use the basics on this. I'm a Prepress Operator that is now doing design. Anything anyone knows that can help would be great.

      Thanks for your time,

      Lance

      Hey Lance.

There is nothing wrong with your file. Flash it kind of touchy about security and it wants to play it safe with web links when you export a SWF file and test it locally on your machine.

Your clients will never see this error. If you need to test your links, place it on a website and everything will work as expected. Otherwise, if you follow the directions in that dialog box you can setup a “trusted folder” on your desktop for testing all of your exported links.

I hope that helps you with your problem.

      Fritz
