Reply To: InDesign CS5 Question: Finding a text in locked text frame

IDcs5 DOES allow you to find text in a locked object (click the first button in the find/change dialog box). But it does not allow you to change text in locked objects.

I can see your point about locking position vs. position AND content. However, most people want both locked.

The best solution is to place your kind of locked objects on a layer and then lock the layer (in Layer Options). Then you can quickly unlock it when you want to find/change. Then lock it again.
