    Hi All.

    I'm in charge of production department of a daily newspaper with 12 staff and we have started into commercial work, so I'm after a design for a timesheet that calculates time spent on the design that can sit on our network and if a designer does some work, they can put in time they have worked and it updates the sheet.

    Any ideas greatly appreciated

    Honestly – I'd say an excel spreadsheet would be the best bet – or similar software.

    I remember doing timesheets in a previous job and it was mostly just about having a pen and pad handy and filling it ou with each job that I did.

    If you're after some software then GridIron Flow I think can manage the time spent on a job? Not too sure how it works though.

    I have heard of some time management software – but honestly an excel sheet will do it just fine.

    Spreadsheets cannnot handle projects which needs complex features to be handled properly. I guess it really needs project management software to properly manage projects. You can check various software packages here and check their features so you can choose and select the best software package for your projects.

    Excel can't help to better manage your team and projects. It's going to be a waste of time if my team uses excel. We currently use a project management software called Latitude which is designed for surveyors and engineers. Its features help my team to better manage our projects. It tracks our clients information, organize documents and files, and can be integrated with Quickbooks, MYOB and Simply Accounting to create invoices of user timesheets.
