Max number of columns for Data Merge

      Does anyone know if there is a maximum number of fields for use in Data Merge? I have gone up to 69 Excel columns. Would 250 or 500 be possible. I can't find in documentation or Adobe site.

      Why not try it!

      If you run out of patience before InDesign runs out of memory, let us all know how much you managed to squeeze in.

      (My bet is … well … don't know. For tables, I think I ran into a limit somewhere — it may have been 100 columns. I wouldn't be surprised if ID has no problems with thousands of fields, for a plain data merge.)
