No matter what I try, I can't seem to get calibri italics to export in calibri italics to epub. When I view the book in Adobe Digital Editions or on my Nook, all the italics appear as some serif that is definitely NOT in my document. I am using all paragraph, character and object styles in the document. It isn't just Calibri either. I have tried exporting in multiple different sans serif fonts with no success. If anyone has any idea what I might be doing wrong or what I might do differently, I would greatly appreciate it.

All the various ebook reader software and devices like to do their own thing with fonts and override your embedded fonts. Most devices (Kindle, nook, Sony) give people the ability to choose their font and size (from a few choices on a given device). In other words, you really cannot control how people are going to see your ebook. It's going to look different, depending on the person and device. I've found it's easiest to “let go” of the font and focus on other formatting issues.

That is what I have to do… I guess… but I have read any number of ebooks with sans serif italics. It's not just the Nook, but ebook viewers on my computer, which leads me to believe it's a problem with InDesign.
