I have numerous layouts that, over time, have font info embedded in the XMP <xmpTPg:Fonts> that is no longer correct, and the list is bloated. This is causing issues with my font manager (Universal Type Client/Suitcase) that reads this old data and wants to activate unneeded and/or unavailable fonts.
Working with a reputable script developer, we are successful at purging ALL font information from the InDesign XMP data, which then forces InDesign to repopulate the XMP <xmpTPg:Fonts> portion of the data.
When this occurs, the documents continue to repopulate with extraneous font info, and I can’t for the life of me figure out where the info is coming from. I’ve duplicated the files with all placed graphics removed (maybe font info was embedded there?), fully removed my fonts manager and cleaned font caches to remove the fonts from the ‘collective memory’ of the workstation, checked all the various Library/Fonts and Resource/Required Fonts folders to verify these fonts don’t exist… and yet here they are continuing to reappear in our documents.
If you have any ideas/thoughts/wonderments I’d sure love to hear.
