Teaching Typography to Toddlers
One of the most fun aspects of parenthood is that you get to introduce your kids to the things you love. And with the help of a Kickstarter project, font-loving parents will soon be able to share their love of typography with their young children via a book called Are You My Typeface?

The project is the creation of MIT design researcher Jesse Austin-Breneman, who initially created a hand-made board book to share his love of typography with his daughter. The book tells the story of a little lost “a” searching for its typeface.

The Kickstarter project aims to raise funds for a small print run of 1000–2000 copies of the board book. A pledge of $15 will get you the book in both print and ebook formats (EPUB and PDF). A pledge of $25 or more will get you the book plus a pair of 11″ x 17″ posters.

The project has already surpassed its initial funding goal, and if it achieves its stretch goal, an iPhone and iPad app will be developed, giving users the ability to add extra typefaces into the story, plus read-along audio and record-your-own audio.
