Use an anchored object for a running head

I’m working on a book and my client wants a dingbat object to be used in a running head (it’s part of a Section title). I can do this, but some of the dingbat characters she wants flipped horizontal. So for example, on dingbat is a leaf with the stem to the right. She wants the stem pointing to the left. On The Section Title page, I changed the dingbat type to outlines so I could flip it, and then tried to give that a paragraph style called dingbat. But the Running head variable doesn’t pull anything in. Is this possible?

Or is there a way if I keep the dingbat as text that I can flip it on both the Section Title page (and RH) without flipping the entire page text box?

I could set up a separate master page for the two sections that have flipped dingbats, but was hoping to see if this can be done with just a RH variable. Any suggestions welcome

Create a font for the flipped dingbat. See https://indesignsecrets.com/creating-a-custom-bullet-or-character-with-indyfont.php

The free trial version of the script can be used to create a font containing just one character

So if I do that, which I just tried, how do i distinguish this new font when creating either a paragraph or character style from the other dingbats I’m using for other sections. So if this new Indy Font is called IndyFont and I insert it where it needs to be on the section page and my Paragraph or Character style is called dingbat, won’t my style either pick up Indyfont for all my dingbats? or am I not thinking about this correctly?
