Font Aid for the Philippines

Since 1999, The Society of Typographic Aficionados has organized series of charitable projects under the banner of Font Aid. New fonts have been designed and sold to raise funds for a variety of relief efforts in the wake of events like 9/11, earthquakes, tsunamis, and hurricanes. A new project, Font Aid VII, has been initiated to raise funds to support the Philippine Red Cross relief efforts after the events of Typhoon Haiyan.

The new project will create a typeface consisting entirely of images based on the eight-rayed sun from the Philippine flag, symbolizing hope, unity, and rebirth.

You can participate by creating a single glyph for the font, using Adobe Illustrator, Fontlab, or UFO, based on the submission guidelines

The deadline for submission is Sunday, December 1st, 2013.
