Last fall, Google announced that it had acquired Nik Software, makers of the popular and award-winning photo-editing software, including the application Snapseed and plug-ins for Photoshop, Lightroom, and Aperture. At the time, Google expressed intentions to “continue offering and improving Nik’s high-end tools and plug-ins.” However, when the company announced its “spring cleaning” a few weeks ago, the Mac and Windows versions of Snapseed were among the products being swept away. But now comes a bit of good news for fans of the Nik products: the Nik Collection of plug-ins has been discounted 70% from $499 to $149.
The collection includes tools for creating HDR images, adjusting color and tonality, black and white conversion, retouching, noise reduction, special effects, and sharpening.
