OK This is a weird one. I’m using CC2020. I just got a new laptop. When I open an existing document (also previously opened in CC2020) and paste any text frame into the new document with the exact same object style names, properties and styles, etc. (using paste in place), the top and bottom margins somehow change (get smaller). Except that they both have the exact same properties (margins, etc.). Has anyone else seen this? Maybe I am missing a setting somewhere? Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

check the master page properties in the new document, maybe there’s something funny going on there.

Something I discovered. In the older document the Object Style for [None} has some kind of override in it. If I clear that it defaults to the same as the new document and the text frame changes (they become the same in both documents). Is there any way I can I determine what that override is?

The easiest thing to do is:

      • Select the frame (which will select the “[None]” style in your Object Styles panel.
      • Click the “Create New Style” button. This will create a new style whose definition contains the overrides that are on the “[None]” style.
      • Enter a name for the style

Now when you copy and paste the text frame, the new Object Style will come into the document along with the frame.
