The air has turned crisp, the floor is littered with carefully organized piles of candy… it must be November first! A good day to dive… into InDesign-related articles and videos!

  • I’m really intrigued by this new book — Books: A Living History. Anyone read it yet? Thinking about buying it for my dad, who is the only person I know who owns more books than me.
  • Our friend and colleague Jean-Claude Trembley was at the LITS show in London this year. Not to be mistaken with TYPO, though both look awesome.
  • I was asked recently if there was a way to color manage various applications on the iPad. I don’t think so, but this new app from the Spyder folks is a step in the right direction.
  • Halftoning (simulating gray with black and white) is one of my favorite topics, so I was so pleased to see this fun article by Gene Gable over at cpro with some amazing history of the art! Hey, speaking of halftones, here’s one on how to create scaleable vector halftones in Illustrator.
  • Thanks, Vikrant, for compiling all the great InDesign-related sessions from Adobe MAX in one place!
  • You want to use InDesign to do printer page imposition? This blog post made my head hurt, but it’s fascinating to see someone work at this!

  • For those of us who are into RegEx, this article about how a grep expression caused a lawsuit is both funny and scary.
