Adobe InDesign
Adobe InDesign sprung onto the scene as a competitor to the venerable QuarkXPress. As a newcomer, it can be considered a success, and as an Adobe product its market-share is only likely to increase. Immediately noticeable is the familiar interface, so familiar, in fact, that George Penston says, in his review: “At first glance, you may think you are in Illustrator 8.0.”
While only time will tell whether InDesign can unseat the incumbent QuarkXPress, it is already a major player in the world of design & layout applications. Industry Insider’s D’Lynn Waldron’s beefy review can be read here. For more information about Adobe InDesign, please see our product page.
