Font Bureau's Readability Series Goes Retail

The Font Bureau announced that it’s much coveted Readability Series of typefaces will be joining its retail collection.
Previously, the fonts in the Readbility Series were sold exclusively to select Font Bureau customers like Sports Illustrated, the Poynter Institute, and the Boston Globe, among many others.
The Readability Series was created with changing technologies in mind. The Font Bureau’s clients needed fonts that adapted to new trends and methods for printing on paper.
“Now, with another wave of technological change and evolving trends, not just in print media, but also online typography and mobile web use, it makes sense for the typefaces of the Readability Series to migrate to our Retail Library for the same licensing options and affordable price,” the Font Bureau says.
The company says that the retail versions of these fonts “are not substantially changed” from the fonts that were licensed to its elite clients. However, “character sets may vary between families; but we’ve taken advantage of the OpenType format to merge small capitals and alternate figure styles and improve access to stylistic alternates, where applicable.”
The faces in the Readability Series are:

Benton Modern Text, Miller Headline, and Poynter Oldstyle Text are also available as Webtype, which is hosted Web service co-founded by the Font Bureau.
Over the next few weeks the fonts in the Readability Series will be available to the public. Some of these typefaces, like Poynter Gothic, are already in the Font Bureau online store.
