The Cintiq 24 HD touch

Digital artists looking for the ultimate tablet on which to create their work may not have much longer to wait. Next month, Wacom will release the Cintiq 24HD touch, a high end interactive pen display designed to replicate a traditional experience of working with pen and paper (or brush and canvas).
The Cintiq 24HD touch features a 24" HD, 1920 x 1200 display capable of rendering 97% of the Adobe RGB gamut. In addtion to pen input, the Cintiq also recognizes touch gestures to pan, scroll, zoom and rotate artwork (in applications that support touch features).
The 24HD touch comes in black and is compatible with Mac OS X 10.5.8+ (Leopard) and Windows 7, and is also Windows 8 ready. It comes bundled with software including Adobe Photoshop Elements, Anime Studio Debut by Smith Micro, Autodesk SketchBook Express, Corel Painter 12 (90-day trial), and Nik Software Color Efex Pro 4 Select Edition.
In terms of controls outside of the screen itself, the Cintiq 24HD touch has ten ExpressKeys that can be programmed with your favorite keyboard shortcuts. Touch Rings provide a means to zoom, scroll, and adjust brush sizes.
If you can’t wait to get your hands (literally) on this device, you’d better be saving your pennies. All that spectacular color and touch support will set you back $3699.
