Adobe Reveals Experience Design CC- Adobe XD

2

On Monday, Adobe unveiled Adobe Experience Design CC (Adobe XD), formerly Project Comet.  Adobe Experience Design is a UX (User Experience Design) application that allows you to both design and prototype websites and mobile applications.

XD is currently available for Mac OSX as a public preview. This tools is meant specifically for UX Designers and meant to be a true solution for the constantly shifting workflows and the landscape around them. This application is more than a successor to Adobe Fireworks, it is an evolution of it that has been rebuilt from the ground up for modern designers.

This tool goes beyond anything we’ve seen before the UX Design space. It handles layouts, wireframing, prototypes and testing while still having robust tools for animation and demonstrating the user experience. You can even record the user experience and present it without having to use complex screen capture or video editing software.

This tool creates a nearly frictionless environment for you to work in immediately, and minimizes your dependence on outside tools. You can drag and drop images into shapes automatically mask them without the need to work in Adobe Photoshop. You can also create native vector objects easily right in Adobe XD rather than Illustrator.

Adobe XD is still not complete and only integrates with Photoshop and Illustrator for the time being. It is also only available to Mac users at the moment. But larger innovations are planned for this, and it is still only a public preview. More functionality, including integration with Adobe mobile apps like Adobe Comp CC are planned as well as a Windows 10 release before the end of 2016.  AdobeXD_UIKits

Adobe Experience Design CC is a very impressive tool and it will only improve as time goes on, much like the other Creative Cloud applications. As it becomes more integrated into the Adobe ecosystem and takes advantage of integration with Creative Cloud Libraries and the Adobe mobile applications, Adobe XD will prove to be an invaluable resource to designers.

We’d love to know your thoughts on Adobe XD. You can download it here from Adobe.com
Feel free to let us know what you are looking forward to from this application in the comment section.

In the meantime, enjoy this video with my first impression of Adobe Experience Design CC.

I’ve only just started using it the past 2 days, but so far I’ve been very impressed with it’s stability, speed and ease of use.

It even handles really bad UX design. Cryptic hamburger buttons, and unintelligible navigation at the top of a smartphone screen? That’s the worst thing you can do for one-handed usability on a smartphone.

Nice article. Like your youtube channel too man.
