Veenix Software Adds New Features To Its Visual Font Database System

VEENIX SOFTWARE, the developer of “Veenix Font Tools” and “Veenix Design & Type Tools” for Macintosh, announced today the addition of several new features to its highly acclaimed Visual Font Database System, a robust, yet easy-to-use WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) font organizing, activating, viewing and printing system for both installed and uninstalled fonts. The new features are included in both software titles and include the following:
Color coded font-type icons in the Font List:
Users can now quickly identify whether a font is TrueType, PostScript, a DFont, or an OpenType font by color coded icons in the Font List window.
Font path information:
The path of the physical font file is now displayed in the “Display Area” of the Font List window. Users can “toggle” between showing the path information for a selected font and the general info for the font.
Font categorizing pop-up menus in the Font List window:
Users can now quickly categorize fonts directly from the Font List window by clicking on a font in the list and then selecting appropriate categories from the pop-ups. “This is absolutely one of the fastest ways to categorize your fonts,” says Veenix president Deb Lake. “We identified and categorized over 600 image fonts from a list of approximately 5000 fonts in about 20 minutes.”
New “Options” menu in the Font List window:
The new “Options” menu in the Font List window allows users to perform the following font actions: add/remove fonts to the database, activate/deactivate/install fonts, reveal font in the Finder, edit font categories, print specimen sheets and more.
Veenix’s Visual Font Database system is compatible with OS 10.4 (Tiger) and has proven one of the most reliable tools for activating, deactivating and installing fonts on the Mac platform. The exclusive printing routines and Type Book printing services, which allow the user to print a catalog of all their fonts, whether active or not, have been recently updated for OS 10.4.
Veenix Software develops intuitive and cost effective software packages for the Macintosh platform. Demo versions, online sales and more information about “Veenix Font Tools” and “Veenix Design & Type Tools” can be found at https://www.veenix.com.
