Good day,
I hope it is OK for me to post this question on this Forum. I am looking for hardware recommendations.
I currently use the CS4 suite on a PowerMac G5 Quad with OSX 10.5.8, 4GB RAM.
I also have a number of plugins and add-ons on the system.
The machine is over 5 years old and it is starting to slow down.
I am looking at getting a new Mac Pro, but hesitate as to which model to get.
I thought asking other InDesign users would be the best way to figure out which machine to get.
Thank you.
Have you consider a Big high end iMac I know alot of people going in that direction rather than MacPro, our studio just went that way and for publishing I see no draw backs at all, fill up an i7 with as much ram as you can afford and you have a serious publishing machine, defo MacPro if you are dealing with video but otherwise I get great performance with CS5 and the iMac
Good day,
I did indeed consider an iMac, however with the investment in monitors and drives I have, it might not be the best fit. Which is why I was looking at a Mac Pro.
I welcome further comments.
Thank you.
Well you seem to know what you want, so there you go, a MacPro it is.
