e frontier announced today that it has released an update to its 3D modeling and rendering software Shade 8 that will support the Universal Binary version of its Shade 8 software for Intel® Core™ Duo processor-based Macintosh and 64-bit Windows computers. Shade 8 users will receive a free update to Shade 8.5. Other features such as export capabilities to QuickTime VR and better integration with Poser are included in this update.
Sunny Wong, Director of Engineering, Shade Division, said, “Artists and designers are going to be excited when they use Shade’s powerful rendering engine on the Intel-based Mac and 64-bit windows machines. Shade is going to be faster and much more responsive.”
Running natively on the Intel Mac, performance of Shade 8.5 is increased as much as 20%. On 64-bit Windows machines, Shade 8.5 users will be able to use more memory and process more date at one time.
