Monotype Imaging Achieves Milestone: Over 100,000 Products on Fonts.com

For the first time, more than 100,000 font products are available from Monotype Imaging’s e-commerce storefront, Fonts.com. The abundant selection features a variety of products from single fonts to bundled packages in standard PostScript®, TrueType® and OpenType® formats for Macintosh® and Windows® platforms.
“Four years ago, we set out to dramatically expand the inventory of Fonts.com,” said Allan Haley, director of words and letters at Monotype Imaging. “In a relatively short period, we’ve more than quadrupled the number of products offered. From the timeless classics of established type foundries to promising new releases from independent designers around the world, our selection is truly unrivaled. Our plan is to push forward and continue to offer new, distinctive designs and to support even more languages to further enhance our selection.”
In 2006 alone, over 13,400 new products have been added to Fonts.com. This number includes more than 3,000 products in the OpenType font format. More than 5,800 of the products contain non-Latin or extended Latin character sets to support Chinese, Japanese, Hebrew, Cyrillic, Baltic, Central European or Turkish languages. In addition to selections from the company’s own Monotype, ITC, Linotype and Image Club foundries, Fonts.com carries products from more than 190 other foundries. Visitors can browse type collections from Adobe, FontFont, Font Bureau, P22, T.26, URW++, Elsner+Flake and many other sources.
Fonts.com has also expanded its offering of font libraries, available for telephone purchase. In 2006, Fonts.com added OpenType versions of the widely used Adobe® Type Collection, Monotype® Library and ITC® Library.
