Fujitsu Unveils New Award-Winning ScanSnap Scanner With Improved Organizational Software Capabilities, Adobe Acrobat 7.0

Fujitsu Computer Products of America, Inc., a market leader in document imaging scanners and services, today introduced an enhanced model of its award-winning Fujitsu ScanSnap™ scanning solution, the fi-5110EOX2, with new software features and organizing capabilities. The new scanner elevates the original ScanSnap scanner with an advanced software bundle, including Adobe® Acrobat® 7.0 Standard, ScanSnap Organizer™ version 1.0, and ScanSnap Manager™ version 2.0.
The now bundled Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Standard software is the easiest way to create and share secure and reliable Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF) documents. With Acrobat 7.0 software, users can view, print, and search Adobe PDF files, create PDF documents from any application that prints, manage specialized content from Microsoft Outlook, Internet Explorer, Access, Microsoft Office and Publisher (Windows only), password protect documents, combine application files into a single PDF document, and organize comments from multiple reviewers with sorting and filtering tools.
The new ScanSnap Organizer software enables users to attach passwords to ScanSnap created PDF files ensuring that only authorized users can open them or see their thumbnail images. The upgraded version also displays scanned PDF files as thumbnails so users can view any image in a particular file simply by clicking the thumbnail’s directional arrows. Furthermore, PDF files can be easily rearranged by "dragging and dropping" selected images. Improving on the renowned ScanSnap Manager software, the upgraded version gives users the ability to create up to nine frequently used and individually tailored scanner profiles based on preferences such as application selections, saving locations and scanning modes.
The new Fujitsu ScanSnap scanning solution maintains all of its award-winning features and capabilities, including authentic one-touch Adobe PDF generation, simple business card scanning and organizing functionality, a 50-page automatic document feeder, high optical resolution, sleek design and fast file handling. Now, with the standard bundle, users also get the Fujitsu ScanSnap scanner "Carrier Sheet," a paper adapter that allows the user to digitize A3 and B4 sized documents in addition to A4, B5, A5, B6, A6 documents and business cards.
