Flashforward Conference Posts 'Vortex of the Damned'

The Flashforward Conference and Film Festival, taking place September 19–21 in Boston, announced their full speaker lineup and complete schedule today with a new animation on its home page, created by Plug-in Media, called ‘Vortex of the Damned.’ The banner, an homage to ’50s B-movie horror graphics, showcases all the speakers and sessions taking place at the conference. The speakers at Flashforward2007 cover everything Flash-related for users of Flash, Flex™, ActionScript and AIR (previously Apollo). Attendees will learn how Flash integrates with other Adobe applications to create Flash video, rich internet applications in and out of the browser, animation, audio, games, and more.

“We love to celebrate the talents of the Flash community through our home page Flash banner, and the Plug-in Media team shows off what can be done with a little humor, ingenuity, and mad talent! It’s horrifying!” laughed Lynda Weinman, CEO lynda.com events, Inc. “This year’s conference is a must-attend event. We’ve lined up speakers to cover all aspects of Flash CS3, including the new integration and workflow features that highlight the first new release of Flash under Adobe’s care. Our speakers will also explore the Flash frontiers in video, games, mobile, and desktop applications.”

Attendees can dig deep into the schedule, speakers, and content before they ever get to the Boston Marriott Copley Place for Flashforward. Content can be explored by speaker name, session title, and through an interactive schedule grid. The conference website includes a feature called ‘Create Your Own Schedule,’ helping attendees prioritize their time in Boston and the presentations they don’t want to miss. Also of note: Friday, June 29 is the last day to submit nominations for the Flashforward Film Festival. The festival, now in its eighth year, celebrates the most innovative and compelling examples of Adobe Flash work available on the web. Anyone, including the creators of projects, can nominate work in fifteen categories. These categories — which range from art, cartoon, and video to commerce, experience, and navigation — recognize innovators pushing the limits of Flash, alone or in combination with other programs and platforms. The Flashforward Film Festival is one of the only creative competitions without entry fees in which work can be submitted by peers and the admiring public.
